Discover the art of jewelry making in this hands-on foundational course. Students will explore essential metalworking techniques including cutting, piercing, soldering, cold connections and forming. Working in both base metals and sterling silver, each student will create 2-3 original handcrafted pieces.

You've got the fundamentals — now put them to work. Over ten sessions, we'll take on the techniques that separate a beginner from a maker: tube setting gemstones, forming hollow bracelets, and building hinges and clasps that actually work. Every skill is learned in the making of a real, finished piece, so you leave the series with a body of work and a deeper set of hands.Prerequisite - Introduction to Jewelry or equivalent experience. This three-part workshop series is the perfect place to start. You'll begin with the basics – hammering, texturizing, and soldering silver into a set of stacking ring bands. Working your way up to gemstone inlay and setting your own cabochon stone.

Casting Four Ways. Molten metal does surprising things when you give it somewhere unexpected to go. Over four sessions, we'll pour into water, into brooms and lentils, into cuttlefish bone and sand, and finally into carved wax by centrifugal casting — each method leaving its own signature on the surface. You'll learn to carve, to read the metal, and to work with a material at the moment it's still moving. Bronze will be provided for this workshop.
